The newlyweds' favorite churches

Some of the most iconic churches of the Amalfi Coast are the wedding couples’ favorites.
The Amalfi Cathedral is one of them, which with its long staircase and neo-Moorish facade is certainly impressive. Not only that: the interior, entirely covered in polychrome marble and decorated in Baroque style, leaves anyone speechless. It is definitely the ideal church for those who desire refinement and richness of detail.
The Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Positano is not to be outdone: positioned right in the center of the village, with its dome of colorful majolica tiles, it is also just a short walk from the beach of Marina Grande, which is overlooked by Positano’s world-famous colorful little houses. Getting married here is definitely a unique and exclusive experience, so choose this if you want your big day to begin in the most special way!
If, on the other hand, you prefer more intimate but no less charming churches, I suggest you check out the church of San Pancrazio in Conca dei Marini. It is especially loved for its distinctive and refined architecture, with its alternating red and white colored bands, and for its enviable location, since it is surrounded by terraces and olive groves.
Another striking church is the church of San Gennaro in Praiano, which overlooks one of the most spectacular terraces on the Coast. If you are looking for a place from which to take photos with an incredible view, this is the one for you!

The best locations for your special day

There are dozens of spectacular locations on the Coast in which to celebrate your special day. From period palaces, to restaurants with breathtaking views of the gulf, to venues surrounded by greenery... there really is something for everyone! Here are some of our recommendations: in the box at the bottom of the article you will find all the useful links.

If you want to add a touch of solemnity to your wedding, the Grand Hotel Anantara in Amalfi will win you over: in fact, it is a luxury hotel created inside a 13th-century Capuchin convent. Since there is a chapel, also from the 13th century, you can celebrate your ceremony there and take photos in the picturesque cloister, and then welcome your loved ones on a terrace overlooking the sea of Amalfi.

Because of its elevated location, Ravello is probably the village with the most dreamy locations.
It is home to another ancient mansion that lends itself beautifully to hosting romantic weddings: Villa Cimbrone. Recommended especially for more intimate ceremonies, the Villa is a truly magical place in which to celebrate your most important day. Villa Cimbrone offers its customers a staff of experts who can recommend a customized solution taking care of every small detail, from the scenography to the floral decorations, to the food and music.
If the watchword for your special day is “luxury,” then the Belmond Hotel Caruso may be your ideal choice. Decorated with ancient frescoes and equipped with panoramic terraces overlooking the coastline as seen from Ravello, the Hotel Caruso is a true work of art. Your guests will be amazed!
Here in Ravello you will also find Palazzo Avino, an ancient noble residence dating back to the 12th century that has been renovated and remodeled to become a splendid hotel organized on several levels and furnished with fine furniture. Even from here, of course, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf.

Now let's move to Positano, to discover the wonders of Villa Treville! What's so special about it? It is a 5-star hotel built on a hillside facing the most famous panorama of the Coast, the vertical houses of Positano! The hotel even has a private beach, reserved for guests. Green balconies, stone pathways and swimming pools on the terraces make the location even more spectacular!
Finally, if you dream of a wedding in a place that looks like something out of a fairy tale, check out Villa San Giacomo! This is a luxury historic villa; it is located in Positano, also on a hillside, and obviously has breathtaking views of the village and the sea. The reception is hosted in the frescoed halls or on the panoramic terraces, and here, too, your event will be planned in detail with the invaluable help of professional wedding planners.

In short, you really are spoiled for choice! All the locations I have suggested here have something in common: they are unique and classy places where you can experience a magical atmosphere, surrounded by the immense beauty of the world's most famous Coast.

Dream locations for perfect photos

One aspect you should not underestimate for your wedding day is to identify the right place to take the ritual photos! If you have decided to celebrate it on the Amalfi Coast, you have many options to choose from: breathtaking natural landscapes, terraces that open onto the endless sea, quaint villages and beaches... you have it all at your fingertips!

First of all, Ravello's villas, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone (which I told you about earlier), are among the most beloved places for couples to take romantic photos, thanks to their blooming gardens and the panorama that stretches as far as the eye can see from their terraces.
If you prefer to be captured in natural settings, you could opt for beaches such as the Fjord of Furore, the fabulous Marina Grande in Positano, or one of the many paths on the Coast (the Path of the Gods and the Path of the Lemons are among the most famous).

Still, if you want instead to be surrounded by the colors and architecture typical of the coastal villages, you can take your photos along the colorful alleys of Vietri sul Mare, or in the tiny but very charming Atrani, or even along the narrow streets of Amalfi, after dedicating a few unforgettable shots to its magnificent cathedral square.

So, are you ready to take the plunge? Follow our tips and enjoy your best day on the Amalfi Coast!
