In recent years, thanks in part to social media, the so-called “experiences”, i.e. activities that tourists seek to make their vacation even more special and unforgettable, have spread like wildfire! It is not strange that the most popular experiences in Italy are the cooking classes, since Italian food is considered by many to be the best in the world and the culinary offer is one of the most varied that exists. In fact, every Italian region has its own typical recipes, its own local products, its own cooking methods: there really is a huge world to explore and countless delicacies to taste!
If even once you have felt curiosity about Italian cuisine and if you would like to put yourself to the test at the stove, know that you can do so by taking part in one of the many cooking classes organized on the Amalfi Coast!
There are many different kinds, but they all have one thing in common: learning to cook local dishes while having fun! And of course the best part is at the end, because the courses always end by tasting the freshly prepared dishes, all together, in the setting of the beautiful coastal villages!

Below are some of the most popular ones: choose the one you prefer!

Melchiò Restaurant's Cooking Class

In the beautiful village of Furore is the Melchiò Restaurant, which, in addition to being one of the best places in the area, organizes several cooking classes! These are held by chef Vito Piccolo, who has been introducing the cooking class project in Furore for the past 4 years, guiding guests in the creation of fish dishes, typical Neapolitan and Mediterranean dishes, pizza and traditional desserts. Each class begins with a visit to the garden, where local products are presented according to seasonality. You can choose from various classes, such as one focusing on the use of local products, or the one dedicated to pizza, and even a specific one on desserts for those with a sweet tooth!

Marco and Tano's Cooking Class

Are you a pizza and pasta fanatic? Then the cooking class for you is located in Scala, in the heart of the Coast! Here, chefs Marco and Tano will guide you through all stages of pizza and fresh pasta making, from choosing ingredients from the garden to creating the dough. The lesson ends, of course, with a tasting of the dishes prepared together on a beautiful terrace overlooking Ravello and the sea of the Amalfi Coast, accompanied by a nice glass of wine. Get ready to get dirty with flour!

Amalfi Gardens' Cooking Class

Another cooking class not to be missed can be found on Amalfi's magnificent terraced gardens! Here at Amalfi Gardens, in fact, the class begins with a tour of the area's typical lemon groves, olive groves and vineyards; you'll pick the ingredients directly from their garden, after which you'll don your apron and get to work creating a four-course meal with your own hands! Vegetarian options are also available, and the meal will be accompanied by local wine, limoncello and coffee.

La Tagliata's Cooking Class

There is one cooking class in particular that has gone viral on social media: it is the one held by Fattoria La Tagliata in Positano! Overlooking the sea, with views of the islands of Li Galli and Capri, the farm is not only a popular wedding venue, but also organizes what is considered by tourists to be the most fun cooking class of all! Here the class is held while listening to loud music and cooking while dancing and tasting local wines: in short, it really is a party! Also at La Tagliata they will allow you to visit the garden and choose seasonal vegetables, and then cook typical Neapolitan dishes all together. The fun is guaranteed!

Amalfi Lemon Experience's Cooking Class

You surely know that one of the symbols of the Amalfi Coast is the lemon! Typical of this area, it is also very much used in cooking. And right in Amalfi you can try your hand at creating typical dishes in which the very famous "sfusato" amalfitano is one of the main ingredients. At Amalfi Lemon Experience you will be able to visit the lemon groves (I recommend wearing comfortable shoes!) and afterwards participate in classes where you will prepare pizza, pasta or traditional dishes! Cooking is serious business here because, as their motto says, "If you don't cook, you don't eat!"

So, are you curious to try your hand at cooking? Choose the cooking class that's right for you and enjoy the dishes of the Amalfi Coast in an original and fun way!
