“THE SOUNDS OF THE GODS” RETURNS: LIVE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES ON THE PATH OF GODS ORGANIZED BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF PRAIANO

The Sounds of the Gods is one of the most eagerly-awaited events for trekking and music lovers. It has reached its 15th edition this year and it is organized by the municipality of Praiano and the Pélagos Association with the support of the Amalfi Coast District.

The event Suoni degli Dei will start on May 4th in the little square in front of the Convent of San Domenico in Praiano, with a live performance of Roberto Casaburi (violin) and Giuseppe Di Martino (double bass), two musicians also known as EL34, with a program that will range from Bach to Händel.

The Path of the Gods

The event takes place on the Path of the Gods, the famous nature trail suspended between the sky and the sea. It winds from Bomerano, a small town of Agerola, until Nocelle, a small town of Positano. The Church of Santa Maria a Castro and the Convent of San Domenico, reachable from Praiano through a long staircase of about 1000 steps that lead to 350 meters above sea level, and the Colle Serra, reachable through the Church of Santa Maria a Castro/San Domenico or from Bomerano - Agerola, at about 600 meters above sea level and Li Cannati are the stage of this musical festival. 
Waiting for you there will be a spectacular view and live musical performances… what a perfect combination!

The Sounds of the Gods: an extraordinary experience

The Path of the Gods, one of the most appreciated and beautiful nature trails of the world, becomes the stage of this musical festival the Sounds of the Gods. The musicians will delight the audience with classic and contemporary music whose melodies blend together with the natural and stunning scenery.
Suspended between the sky and the sea, embraced by the Lattari Mountains, with a spectacular view which winds from Punta Campanella to Capri Island and delighted by the melody. Get ready to live an exceptional experience!
For the 2022 edition, will take part to the event: the Violin & Viola duo composed of Ilario Ruopolo and Paolo di Lorenzo, the Flute & Violin duo composed of Simone Mingo and Sara Rispoli, I Divergenti duo composed of Vincenzo Scannapieco (Ottavino / Piccolo flute) and Gioacchino Mansi (Euphonium) and the aforementioned duo EL 34 who will inaugurate the event.

The past editions, instead, saw the participation of exceptional guests such as Ludovico Einaudi, Ambrogio Sparagna and Solis String Quartet. In September 2015, this event earned a mention in the New York Times.
This unique event is conceived and organized by the Municipality of Praiano and the Pelagos Association with the patronage of the Amalfi Coast District and in collaboration with San Gennaro Parish, AMCA (Amalfi Coast Music Association) and Travelmar, the fast maritime transportation company that offers a special service to easily reach the Path of the Gods: ferry service plus private bus at 9.30 departing from Amalfi. So, if you are looking for a unique opportunity and want to reconcile mind and spirit, this music festival is for you!

  • The difficulty level of this path, characterized by trails and steps, is classified as “easy to medium” with a duration from 1 to 3 hours considering Praiano as a departing point.
  • Wear trekking shoes and comfortable clothing.
  • I suggest you take some food and water with you, and don't forget your camera: you will want to take a picture of every corner of this paradise!
  • The fast ferry service Travelmar provides a combined ferry + shuttle service that will take you from the localities of the Amalfi Coast to Bomerano, the small town of Agerola, also known as the starting point of the famous nature trail, the Path of the Gods.
