A ROMANTIC WEEKEND IN RAVELLO

The Cathedral of Ravello, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and keeper of San Pantaleone’s relic, its patron saint, is the perfect starting point to discover this wonderful town. Not far from the square where the Cathedral stands, there are Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, a must to see during your romantic stay in Ravello, and the ideal places for spending a few relaxing hours enjoying breathtaking views and enchanted gardens. These two villas are the perfect locations to surprise your sweetheart with an unforgettable wedding proposal.

Villa Rufolo, in the center, just a few steps away from the Cathedral has preserved an atmosphere of the past that will fascinate you! The gardens are the same amazing ones that captivated Richard Wagner, the renowned German composer, who visited Ravello for the first time in 1880. On that occasion, he affirmed that he had found the Klingsor’s true enchanted garden, referring to his work Parsifal.
Villa Cimbrone, instead, located on the top of a promontory, is about 10 minutes walk from Villa Rufolo and offers an amazing view of the Gulf of Salerno and the Coast below. Today, part of the villa is used as one of the most prestigious hotels on the Amalfi Coast, and one of the most appreciated locations by celebrities couples to organize dream weddings. The gardens, open to the public, will amaze you. Then, this villa, famous in the world for its Terrazza dell’Infinito, the place where the sea and the sky blend into one, is characterized by one of the most stunning views of the Amalfi Coast.

At last, if you are looking for a place usually less crowded, halfway between Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, in the street Via S. Giovanni del Toro, next to the luxurious hotel "Palazzo Avino", there is the charming and unmissable Belvedere della Principessa di Piemonte from which you can even admire Maiori and Minori from afar. Often chosen to celebrate weddings, it is one of the most evocative corners of this town.

• Famous for some of the most prestigious hotels on the Amalfi Coast, former noble residences, Ravello offers a wide range of accommodations ready to satisfy every need. For a romantic weekend, I recommend the Hotel Bonadies, one of the most beautiful and ancient hotels of the Amalfi Coast, located in the square Piazza Fontana Moresca 5, just a few minutes from the main one. This accommodation characterized by elegance, tranquility, and a breathtaking view, will make your stay in Ravello unforgettable.
• For a quick lunch if you are looking for authentic local food in a cosy and unique location, choose one of the several little restaurants in the square Piazza Duomo that with an open-air space and a lot of flowers will allow you to enjoy this medieval square. 
• If you love the sea, there is the wonderful beach Spiaggia di Castiglione reachable along a staircase of about 200 steps which is accessed from the State Road 163 just before the crossroads for Ravello and not far from the small town of Atrani. 
• For a unique culinary experience, I suggest the Michelin Star restaurant “Rossellinis” in the luxurious Palazzo Avino. The Neapolitan chef Giovanni Vanacore with a new traditional cuisine will make you live a dream and thanks to a charming and romantic atmosphere, this is the perfect location to celebrate a a special event with the person you love.
